2021–2024 (2nd generation)

The 2021 draws the most complaints, and about half of its NHTSA complaints describe a windshield that cracks without an obvious impact. CarComplaints data is thin, but its top 2021 report is also a defective windshield, followed by trouble filling the fuel tank. Complaints drop sharply after 2021, and Toyota ended the Venza after 2024. A recall covers rear turn signal lights on some 2021 models that water can enter and short out. [1] [2]

2009–2015 (1st generation)

The 2009 draws the most complaints. NHTSA owners of the 2009 describe soft brakes and ABS and stability control warnings, and CarComplaints ranks a steering rattle first for 2009, followed by paint that chips easily and transmission failure. For 2013, CarComplaints lists a shattered sunroof and oil consumption.
